in this study.
The research question addressed in this paper is described in the
second paragraph of the paper. The authors have noticed in prior
studies (both their own and those of others) that female athletes
do not increase muscle glycogen as much as men during carbohydrate
loading procedures. The specific question addressed in this paper
is "What is the explanation for the difference between men
and women in carbohydrate loading.
