DNA Replication
DNA polymerase I (Pol I) starts at “nicks” in the growing strands.  It edits the strand by replacing mismatched bases ahead of it, 3' to 5'; then it elongates, 5' to 3', moving the position of the "nick" before it.  It replaces all RNA nucleotides with dNTPs.
