The first years after Hybridization were some of the darkest in the history of Earth. The entire planet was thrown into a state of complete chaos, historically this is know as the Era of Chaos (EC). Most of the records from that time were destroyed and the ones we have a vague at best. In the generations until the new species were clearly defined the whole earth was thrown into a sort of civil war. It is hard to imagine now but ancient “Pures” had a history of hating whole other groups of Pures because their skin color was slightly different or their beliefs varied slightly, it seems almost laughable today. As one can image when hybrid children, who looked as much like a plant as they looked like a pure human, stared being born it was more than most Pures could handle. Children were abandoned by there parents or taken from their parents and killed, it is so horrible it is hard to believe.
    Once most of the planet had become hybrids the violence lessened a great deal but the planet was still in a state of chaos. There is evidence that there were hold out groups known as Purists but eventually they all  died out or interbreed with hybrids.  Pures, had a very narrow definition of “humanity” and once they themselves no longer fit that description they were lost.
     It is unclear how or why but eventually small villages began to form. It seems some of these were composed of similar hybrids who could interbreed and some of them were old family units who had managed to stay together. Eventually the ancients discovered that some of the new species were better equipped at specific tasks then other hybrids.  It was this discovery which lead to the eventual restructuring of a larger earth society, officially beginning of the era know known as After Hybridization. Small villages started to come together and so on until there were substantial cites with governments. Fortunately all of the lessons of history had not been lost and this process was not as long and painful as it has been for the Pures so many thousands of years before.
     This time of restructuring was also necessary genetically speaking. There were hundreds probably thousands of species that did not survive the until AH. Countless new species did not survive simply because they were not strong enough to survive the EC. Many species could not find an environmental niche and did not evolve in time. Sadly there were also many hybrids who were the only one of their kind and could not successfully interbreed. These species did not survive long but it does seem like a rather lonely existence. Finally, there were hybrids who while not the only one of their species were infertile and could not produce viable offspring, again these species did not survive long.
