And so it came to be that after an innumerable amount of generations of cows and bulls, and probably millions of years, they evolved to be part of the Illyrian ecosystem.  Back on Earth, things had not gone so well for cows, bulls, or the descendants of the group of voyagers.  With so many advances in food biotechnology, most food markets, including the milk and dairy and beef markets, had declined.  Technologists eventually developed a daily pill that contained 100% daily value of many necessary nutrients, including calcium and protein, and several more pills and injections for things like sweets and snacks.  This suited people very well, as most of them were by now severely addicted to mood-altering drugs anyway, a habit that was started by those fateful voyagers so many millions of years earlier.
