Scumler
The Scumler is a good example of the thousands of varieties of gut flora on Balota. These bacteria live in the digestive tracts of most Balotan mammals, helping to break down their food, manufacturing nutrients, and aiding the immune system.

Gootler
The Gootler is yeast-like fungi that decomposes dead organic matter. It also occasionally causes infections in the foot of the Cheatler.

Krobler
The Krobler is a typical Balotan bacterium. During the wet season, it tends to either travel on or in some organism that will provide it with water and nutrients, or it forms spores and stays dormant until the next rain (13). During the rainy season, Kroblers are one of the primary decomposers on Balota.
