Incorrect. It is true that women have more estradiol
than men. It is also true that the difference in estradiol levels
could help explain differences in exercise performance between men
and women. However, the difference in the amount of estradiol itself
is not a piece of evidence supporting the theory that there are
gender differences in exercise performance.
The theory that there are gender differences in the response to
exercise is supported by numerous studies that have shown a lower
respiratory exchange ratio in women during endurance exercise.
