Crossover and
Recombination
of two Homologous
Chromosomes
After ligation, part of
each
helix is "hybridized" from two DIFFERENT
helices. This is a
MOLECULAR hybrid, not a Mendelian hybrid.
(What
is the difference??)
In
a molecular hybrid, you can have mismatched base pairs!!
The
mismatches will have to be corrected by repair enzymes.
