Millikan Oil Drop Experiment

Students measure a very small electric charge on a tiny oil drop and find that it is equal to a whole number of electrons

Charge is measured by turning on a known electric field and observing how fast the drop moves

Good illumination of the drop and protection from outside air currents ensure that students will be able to get plenty of data before the drop is lost from view
