Seasilk
grows off the raft. The floating
"raft" trees support countless forms of life, including the seasilk which
produces uniquely durable fibers. Sharer harvest seasilk in order
to build their silkhouses. They also
weave seasilk into blankets, but never clothing. Before the Valan
occupation, they traded seasilk for Valan products such as electric motors
and gemstones.
