I am broadly interested in the evolution of life histories of organisms. Particularly, I am
interested in the physiological and molecular mechanisms which underlie variation seen
in lifespan and aging. My work has centered on telomere biology, specifically addressing how telomeres
relate to aging, lifespan and individual quality. I address these relationships from a comparative and
evolutionary framework as this yields informative contrasts of how different
organisms cope with the nearly universal phenomenon of aging.
