I am interested in how the life history trait of adult survival influences animal behavior, particularly among long-lived animals. I also am interested in the foraging behavior of barnacles. I study both systems during the summer at the Bowdoin College Scientific Station (BSS) at Kent Island, New Brunswick, Canada, where I serve as director. Finally, my students and I investigate behavioral ecology of resident birds in the winter.
