Cell Fusion

The virus can penetrate cell membranes and then causes the membranes of two distinct cells to fuse. Once the cell membranes are fused the nuclei fuse forming one nuclei which has complete DNA from both cells. The cell then goes through mitosis breaking into two cells which have complete DNA from both parent cells. During this process some chromosomes are lost at random determining the information in the final hybrid strand of DNA.
