Planetary Custodian: Official title for primary human ruler of Epicinea. Focus of Planetary Custodian is to maintain ideal balance among all living things and systems on Epicinea. Ruling term 10 years. Qualifications: must be between years 5 and 10 to begin official Custodial Apprenticeship Training, and must be intersexed as Epicineans believe a planetary leader must carry wisdom of both genders.
**Custodial Installation Procedure: Upon conclusion of 10-year term, Planetary Custodian relinquishes rule to Custodial Apprentice. During Custodian's ruling term, Apprentice embarks on combined spiritual journey and Custodial training program, in which Apprentice travels solo across all major ecosystems of Epicinea, both becoming familiar with various challenges to planetary balance and gaining deep appreciation and relationship with Epicinea as a greatly complex planetary home. Journey concludes in Deserta Primerta in which Apprentice harvests sacred bloom of acusa plant, and with it returns to Epicenter to perform ceremony to install next Custodial Apprentice. During Apprentice's journey, Epicinean officials send out call for all intersexed humans between 5 and 10 years to convene at Epicenter upon Apprentice's return. Apprentice Installation Ceremony consists of current Apprentice injesting prepared Acusa nectar and receiving vision of which intersexed child shall be installed as next Apprentice. Immediately following ceremony, Apprentice undergoes official Elevation Ceremony to full Custodian. This is a sacred ceremony performed in private between Former Custodian and New Custodian.
